The Snapmaker U1 is a high-speed, CoreXY multi-material 3D printer featuring a 4-head tool changer system. Designed to compete with flagship production machines, it uses the SnapSwap™ mechanism to switch between four independent toolheads in roughly 5 to 12 seconds, virtually eliminating the filament waste typical of single-nozzle material switchers.
- SnapSwap™ 4-Toolhead System: Houses four individual extruders, allowing for instant swapping (in just 5 seconds) between different materials and colors without continuous filament purging
- Minimal Waste: By keeping all four toolheads constantly hot and pre-loaded, it drastically reduces the amount of filament lost to the "purge/prime tower"
- Material Pairing: Easily combine rigid materials (like PETG or PLA) with flexible ones (like TPU), or print dissolvable PVA supports for complex geometries without ruining prints. [1]
- CoreXY Motion System: Utilizes lightweight, rigid carbon fiber X-axis rails for fast, stable movement.
- High Speeds: Capable of a maximum travel speed of 500 mm/s and accelerations up to 20,000 mm/s²
- nput Shaping: Uses a built-in accelerometer to calibrate and dampen vibrations, ensuring crisp edges and ripple-free surfaces
- Auto-Loading: Threads filament automatically when spools are hung, eliminating manual feeding.
- RFID Recognition: Automatically detects color, type, and temperature settings for official Snapmaker filaments.
- Backup Mode: Automatically swaps to a backup spool when your current one runs out.
- Smart Calibration: Takes care of mesh bed leveling, flow compensation, and toolhead offsets on its own
- Build Volume: 270 × 270 × 270 mm
- High Temp Hotend: Stainless steel nozzles that can reach up to 300°C, capable of handling engineering-grade filaments (with optional top cover).
- Print Bed: Flexible, PEI-coated steel sheet for easy print removal, placed over a cast aluminum bed heated up to 100°C
- AI Print Monitoring: Features a 2-megapixel built-in camera that watches your print and can alert you to failures like spaghetti tangles.
- Snapmaker Orca & App: Uses a customized version of OrcaSlicer, allowing you to access model profiles directly and remotely control the printer or monitor live video feeds
